Wind, Brass and Percussion
No matter your instrument, the music program at EMU will provide you with an opportunity
to improve your performance skills. Because of our small size, you will be able to
participate in unique and creative ensembles, arranging and performing a variety of
musical styles. You will have an opportunity to lead musical groups that include both
students and faculty. Whether you want to play in a traditional ensemble, a jazz band,
or record music from your band, EMU will help you become the best musician you can
be.
Perform Together
- Chamber music, ensembles, quintets, jazz bands, informal music on the lawn or concerts in Harrisonburg’s largest performance venue, your performance opportunities are unlimited.
- The EMU community values music, all kinds of music, whether you’re a music major or just love the community of musical ensembles.
- You’ll have an opportunity to experience the professional aspects of music through paid gigs on and off campus.
- Learn arts management and the technical and administrative side of music through internships with Blue Sprocket Studio
- Lessons with our professional faculty are subsidized for music majors and minors by Encore, our alumni association.
