Location
Our main campus in Harrisonburg, Virginia, in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley, is located near two national forests and the
Shenandoah National Park. Harrisonburg was voted one of the best college towns in
the nation. Our extension site in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and Washington D.C. and our online degrees and programs provide additional opportunities to learn in unique environments, while still providing
the support and community that makes EMU special.

Faith and Values
EMU was founded in 1917 and is affiliated with Mennonite Church USA. From its beginnings as a small bible college, EMU has grown into a vibrant learning
community, serving people from many faith traditions, cultures, and nationalities.
50+ faith traditions are represented on campus.
The EMU community’s core values of service to others, peacemaking, and care for the environment stem from our commitment
to actively live our faith in the world. We seek to be intentional about faith-based,
Christian engagement with the world. We want you to join us in changing the world
to be a place with more compassion and care for others, the environment and the world’s
resources.
