EMU’s Academic and Creative Excellence Festival
Create Together, Explore Together
Each year EMU hosts the Academic and Creative Excellence (ACE) festival. This academic conference experience provides an opportunity for students to learn from their peers and to showcase their own research, creative projects, and papers. It is also an opportunity to continue conversations sparked by our Common Read for the year. We invite a keynote speaker to explore with us a topic that is rooted in EMU’s core values. Undergraduate classes do not meet between 8 am and 5 pm on Festival day, so everyone can fully participate.
In addition, students will gain experience to prepare for career success, including the following:
- practice communicating your ideas and research to others, and practice listening to and engaging with others about their work
- gain a broader understanding of academic disciplines that aren’t your own
- experience collaborative teamwork with classmates and/or faculty
- learn what is important for presenting at or attending a professional conference

Hosted by the Office of the Provost, the ACE Festival is grateful for the support of sponsors and collaborators to help make these events possible.
In 2025, Convocation at EMU and EMU's Language and Literature Program have contriubted generously in support of our keynote speaker.
