A bachelor of arts in music from EMU prepares graduates for work in music education, in performance, in graduate school, and in other music-related professions. Our small size means you'll have great opportunities to perform, create and educate. Our faculty are passionate about connecting music with community, intercultural experiences and service. Even if you're not a music major you can join an ensemble, or play in the orchestra or jazz band. Music is an important part of the EMU community. Visit our music ensembles page for more info.
Explore the intersections of music and peacebuilding with a hands-on, interdisciplinary major that tailors elective courses and practicum to a student's career goals.
A music minor will allow you to study music with another degree.
EMU's newest minor provides an accessible way for students interested in music, but who might lack the formal training other music minors require, to follow their passion.
Both majors and non-majors participate in music events and performances at EMU. Community members, parents, faculty, staff, students and friends are welcome to attend concerts and other events. SVCC events require tickets. Most other events are by donation.
