Accelerated Second Degree Nursing Program (15 months)

Are you ready to change careers? Do you like the sciences? Consider a career in nursing. Check out our accelerated second degree nursing program. In just 15 months, you could fulfill your dream of becoming a nurse. 

Program distinctives

  • 15-month program beginning in May and ending the following August.
  • Small summer courses
  • Mentoring and one-on-one relationships with faculty and other students
  • Summer study means you complete the program earlier than a traditional second-degree
  • Experience in clinical rotations and a variety of nursing settings.

How does the program work?

Students in this program may find it difficult to work. You may also be expected to complete 12 hour and/or weekend clinical rotations.

In addition to clinical nursing courses, ASD students will need to complete the following EMU core curriculum courses:

  • Cross-cultural designate courses (may be transferred or satisfied by previous course work) (6 SH)
  • An Anabaptist Biblical Perspectives (ABP) course (3 SH) (only offered at EMU)
  • A senior seminar course (2 SH) (only offered at EMU)

Summer 2019

  • Orientation – May 13
  • Classes begin – May 14
  • Summer semester ends – August 16
  • No classes on May 27 (Memorial Day) and July 4
