Accelerated Second Degree Nursing Program (15 months)

Are you ready to change careers? Do you like the sciences? Consider a career in nursing. Check out our accelerated second degree nursing program. In just 15 months, you could fulfill your dream of becoming a nurse. 

Program distinctives

  • 15-month program beginning in May and ending the following August.
  • Small summer courses
  • Mentoring and one-on-one relationships with faculty and other students
  • Summer study means you complete the program earlier than a traditional second-degree
  • Experience in clinical rotations and a variety of nursing settings.

How does the program work?

May-August

(No class Memorial Day and July 4)

August-December

(Fall semester schedule)

January-April

(Spring semester schedule)

Students in this program may find it difficult to work. You may also be expected to complete 12 hour and/or weekend clinical rotations.

In addition to nursing courses, ASD students will need to complete the following EMU core curriculum courses:

*A senior seminar course, required for graduation, is included in the ASD BSN curriculum.

Summer 2021

  • Orientation – May 17
  • Classes begin – May 18
  • Summer semester ends – August 13
  • No classes on May 31 (Memorial Day) and July 4
