Northlawn Residence Hall
Welcome to Northlawn!
Originally built in 1957 and lovingly renovated since, Northlawn hall has some of the best views on campus and also houses the cafeteria on the lower level. The Northlawn Great Lounge on the first floor is a wonderful gathering place with entertainment options and a kitchen.

- Northlawn's 2nd and 3rd floors are designated exclusively for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students.
- Northlawn 4th Floor is available to seniors (90+SH) as well as full-time juniors (56+SH) as space is available. Preference is given to seniors and all 4th floor residents must be aged 20+ by 9/1 of the applicable academic year
- individual heat/AC control in rooms
- lofting systems for beds
- every floor has at least one student lounge with TV
- computer hookups and wireless internet access available
- carpeted rooms and hallways
- laundry facilities on each floor
- 36″ × 80″ long mattresses
Types of rooms
Double rooms:
Rooms designed for two persons. Students who do not request a roommate will be assigned a roommate.
Single Rooms:
Unless you are living on the 4th floor (see above for more information), only students with approved single-room housing accomodiations are permitted to live in single-rooms. Please email oaa@emu.edu with any questions you may have, as well as how to begin that process.
NOTE: You must have approved medical documention in order to complete your single-room housing accomodiation form!
Suite Rooms:
Limited suite rooms designed for 4-6 people. Some of the bedrooms are doubles, while others are singles. There are only 4 total suites on each floor, and they can only be chosen during the housing selection process in March of each calendar year.

Northlawn 4th Floor
Northlawn 4th (seniors with 90+SH as well as some full-time juniors with 56+SH) features standard single rooms, with large dormer windows. Some suites are also available, accomodating up to 4 students each.
