Academic Year Tuition
Providing a quality education while also keeping student costs affordable is a priority for our pre-professional health program. We strive to offer tuition that is lower than most academic institutions that offer a pre-medical or pre-health education.
Tuition
Tuition and fees for the current academic year for the Biomedicine program and other graduate programs are available on the Business Office website. Additional cross-cultural travel costs are the responsibility of the student.
Additional Gap Year Certificate fees will apply, including room and board in Washington D.C.
Financial aid and graduate assistantships
The program administrative team will oversee the allocation of available financial aid in the form of graduate assistantships. Typical graduate assistantship awards are between $500 – $1,000 per semester and expected workload hours are 5 – 10 hours per week. Graduate assistants are not permitted to carry academic loads greater than 12 hours per semester.
Student loans
The Federal Direct Student Loan program (unsubsidized) allows a graduate student to borrow up to $20,500 per award year with 6.08% interest. In addition, the Federal Direct Plus Loan program (credit-based) allows supplemental borrowing to cover educational related expenses at 7.08% interest. International students with US Permanent Resident cards are eligible for the Federal Direct Loan Programs. Financial aid is determined by the number of credit hours taken each semester.
For additional information, contact the Financial Assistance office at 1-800-330-9683 or finaid@emu.edu.
While MS in Premedicine applicants are not eligible for federal financial aid, they are eligible for VTAG (if residents of Virginia) or private loans. Please contact the Financial Assistance office for additional details on financing.
