Tuition and Fees
Tuition and fees for the 2018-19 academic year for CJP and other EMU graduate programs is available on the Business Office website.
CJP has internal scholarships available and students are encouraged to submit a scholarship application after submitting an application for admission. Students are generally able to fund their program-related expenses through a combination of sources, such as external and internal scholarships, federal student loans, organizational sponsorships and personal funds.

Faith Community Matching Grant: CJP matches whatever your church or faith congregation provides up to $1,000 per year ($2,000 career maximum). Access the application form
SPI Scholarship for Graduate Program Students :Available for students with financial need pursuing a graduate degree (MA or GC) at CJP, either through the traditional or limited-residency route. This scholarship covers one SPI course for credit (and lodging on campus if doing the limited-residency option) and is a one-time award. Access the application form to apply for this scholarship.
Volunteer Service Discount Application: Students who have served for at least two years with a fully volunteer service organization are eligible to apply for this discount which will award 12.5% tuition discount per credit hour. Access the application form to apply for this scholarship.
Fulbright Scholars: Fulbright Scholars receive a 12.5% tuition discount for the duration of their Fulbright award. Learn more about our Fulbright Scholars.

Below is a list of scholarship opportunities for new applicants. Candidates must have submitted a completed application for admission by February 15, 2019 in order to be considered for any scholarships.
Applicants will be informed of scholarship decisions along with their admission letter. Scholarships are awarded at the time of admission, therefore only new, incoming students are eligible to apply.
Priority will be given to full-time MA students, and part-time MA and graduate certificate students will be considered only as resources allow.
Name James and Marian Payne Family Endowed Scholarship This scholarship provides one or more annual scholarship awards to students pursuing a M.A. degree at CJP. Adam Herr Baer Endowment for Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding This scholarship supports students who have helped or plan to help mediate conflicts around the globe. Seeds of Peace and Justice Grant Fund
This scholarship is intended to provide financial support to students enrolled in an M.A. graduate program at CJP.
Maximum amount to be awarded: $25,000/student x2 awards
Alumni-Nominated Scholarship Awarded to applicants, who have been nominated by CJP alumni. Students must already have applied to CJP in order to be considered for the award. Edgar and Gladys Stoesz Family Grant Fund
Preference shall be given to students having a relationship to the Anabaptist/Mennonite Church. In addition, over the life of the fund an effort will be made to distribute the awards to both domestic and international students in roughly equal numbers.
Multiple awards of $5,000 to $10,000 will be made each year to provide a total of $15,000 per year in awards over the next four academic years and continuing in future years as funds are available.
Detweiler Lesher Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is intended to provide need-based aid to CJP graduate students studying at EMU with priority given to a student (s) from an area of conflict who are either: 1) an international student from a Mennonite World Conference (MWC) related church; or 2) a student employed by/volunteering with an agency associated with a MWC church(s). Kay Koontz Gillette Endowed Scholarship Fund This scholarship is for North American CJP students with financial need, who will be applying their peacebuilding skills in a North American context. John Paul and Wendy Lederach Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is for CJP or SPI; priority is given to international students, and then minority students from the U.S., specifically Native Americans. C.K. Lehman Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is intended to provide one or more annual scholarship awards to students at CJP, with priority given to students from outside the U.S., or who were born in the U.S. to immigrant parents from developing nations. John E. and Betty J. Kreider Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is intended for CJP students. Rose Landis Baer and Gerald R. Baer Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is intended for full-time M.A. students. Mennonite Fellowship at MSU Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is intended for a CJP graduate student, with priority given to international students. Donald L. and Lillian E. Goodwin Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is intended for one or more students with financial need who plans to serve in the nonprofit sector, whether public or private. Norm and Alice Clemmer Rittenhouse Endowed Scholarship for World Peace This scholarship is intended to provide one or more annual scholarship awards to students at CJP, with priority given to students coming from the Middle East. H.D. Swartzendruber Family Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is intended for a student from outside North America who is pursuing a M.A. degree. James and Joan Nissley Gingrich Fund This scholarship is intended for an international M.A. student. J. Daryl Byler & Cynthia Byler Fund This scholarship is intended for M.A. students from Iran, Iraq, Jordan or Israel-Palestine. Kurdish Grant Fund Scholarship award with priority to female Iraqi Kurdish students living in Iraq wishing to pursue an M.A. degree at CJP, or to a local Iraqi Kurd. Indee Endowed Scholarship for International Students This scholarship is intended for need-based financial support to international students enrolled in the graduate program at CJP. Michael J. Sharp Peace and Justice Endowed Scholarship The purpose for this endowed scholarship is to provide need-based aid to Center for Justice and Peacebuilding graduate students, with a priority given to a student(s) from the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). R Bradley and Mary Ellen Chewning Endowed Scholarship Fund The intent of this endowed scholarship is to provide need-based financial support to students enrolled at the Center for Justice & Peacebuilding (CJP). Saralisa Rae Miller Endowed Scholarship for Peacebuilding This scholarship is to provide need-based financial support to students in the graduate program at the Center for Justice & Peacebuilding (CJP). Priority for the scholarship award will be given to women from North America, with preference to women of color. Creating Earth Wholeness Endowed Scholarship This scholarship is for a MA in RJ student, with priority to students who intend to focus their work in areas of education and/or environmental justice.
