Honors Scholarship

Each year, only a few honors students are selected as Honors Scholarship Recipients and rewarded with EMU’s highest academic award: a four-year full-tuition scholarship. Any first-year student applying for the fall semester may apply for an Honors Scholarship via the process outlined on the Honors Scholarship webpage. The deadline to apply is 11:59 p.m. Eastern on February 7, 2027.

The EMU honors faculty conduct the Honors Scholarship competition, rigorously evaluating candidates’ academic performance, community and extra-curricular involvement, creativity, clarity of thought, and leadership potential. Participation in the competition requires candidates to construct a portfolio of their high school achievements, write a series of essays, and meet with a member of EMU honors faculty for a one-on-one interview.

EMU Work Program

Undergraduate International Students can participate in EMU’s Work Program (similar to the Federal “Work Study” program for domestic students). All international students are permitted to work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session and are also eligible to apply for on-campus work during the summer. Summer housing options vary so check with the specific department you are applying to work for.
