Self-Care for Caregivers
Healthcare professionals function in a stressful setting in the best of times. When
faced with situations like the current COVID 19 crises, healthcare providers, their
families, and their patients experience even greater pressures. In this webinar, we
will identify how stress and trauma can manifest in our lives, our family and our
patients. Participants will learn to recognize the importance of self-care and develop
a self-care and resilience plan which can be implemented immediately.
Presenter: Beth Good, PhD. has her master’s in public health nursing and her PhD in nursing science

Nervous Systems in an Anxious Time: The Neurobiology of Crisis, Trauma & Resilience
Unparalleled. Unprecedented. Extraordinary. Whatever descriptor you use for the COVID-19
global crisis, it is clear that humanity is facing a species-defining moment as we
learn to live with the virus and its impacts. How have our brains and nervous systems
evolved to respond to crisis and trauma? What supports and enhances our capacity for
resilience? How can individuals tip the balance of experience toward post-traumatic
growth? Join Dr. Gregory Czyszczon as we explore these topics through the lens of
interpersonal neurobiology.
Presenter: Dr. Gregory Czyszczon is an Assistant Professor of Counseling at Eastern Mennonite University.
