Why I came to EMU

I chose EMU because of the small friendly vibe the university gave off, which was really expressed by how friendly and open everyone on campus is. It also was just the right amount of distance away from home, which was something I was looking for. Additionally coming to EMU allowed me to not just grow academically and spiritually, but it also gave me the opportunity to continue my athletic career at a competitive level.

Favorite things to do in Harrisonburg

I love how in Harrisonburg there is an array of different opportunities for entertainment. Harrisonburg itself has a great downtown life, with awesome small restaurants that cater to a vast array of different cultures and types of food. Then all around the town there are multiple nature, and hiking trails that range in difficulty. Then all the festivals such as the international festival just add to the magic of the city.

Favorite memory around EMU

My favorite memory from EMU is when the men's volleyball team my sophomore year, beat our rival Juniata college. Other than the fact that they are our rivals, it was very exciting because we had not beat them in 6 years, so it was an amazing accomplishment for our team. To top it all off, it was at home so running on the court after the win, and being cheered on by all our fans, really made it my favorite memory.
