Our options are not limited to the internships listed below. Organizations listed
reflect sites where WCSC has recently placed students or those that are currently
looking for interns. Please feel free to do your own research and do not hesitate
to contact WCSC for further opportunities.
- CITI (Community IT Innovators) – IT company serving non-profit organizations throughout the DC region.
- Past interns have helped with network systems, setting up new computers, transferring
data, and troubleshooting. Opportunities may also exist for students interested in
programming, websites, and systems design.
- Interns often work independently on-site, while being well supported by CITI technicians.
- Tech Impact – Computer assistance for non-profit organizations.

- Smithsonian’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) – services the digital technology needs of the Smithsonian Institution’s museums,
heritage and research centers, and related offices.
- Internship includes work in cyber-security.
- Interns may also gain experience with programming and learning new platforms.
- Capital Area Food Bank – the area’s largest food bank serving over 700 homeless shelters, smaller food banks,
and nutrition programs.
- IT interns work on a small team to provide IT services to the main office.
