  • Cost: tuition, room and board plus $2,500 travel fee (Subject to change based on currency exchange rates and air fares)

Courses

  • ICSSC 201 Intercultural Engagement: India 3 SH
    Students will gain understanding of themselves and of their own culture as we explore Indian life and culture, enriched by daily interactions with host country nationals, living and studying on partner university campuses, and reflecting on experiences.
  • ICPXD 375 - Globalization and Justice in India 3 SH
    Explores the long historical and cultural changes of India dating back to the early Mogul emperors, British rule, Indian independence in 1947, and current governance in the world's largest democracy. 
  • ICORE 300: Power, Systems and Justice: India  3SH
    A deep look at the historic roles of activism, race, class, caste and gender and how society continues to change or be informed by these dynamics.
  • ICHUM 330 - World Religions in the South Asian Context 3 SH
    Students will interact with the many religions prevalent in India, visiting mosques, temples, churches, and other religious sites. 
  • ICENV 235  Sustainable Food Systems: India 3 SH

Immunizations

In an effort to maximize the safety of our hosts and our students, EMU Intercultural Programs requires all employees and students who travel for intercultural immersion, both domestic and international, to have completed their recommended vaccination for COVID-19 more than 14 days prior to travel. This is one of the standard immunizations required for enrollment, effective Mar. 1, 2021.  

Immunizations and prescriptions may be obtained at EMU Health Services by appointment.
Immunizations may also be obtained from your local health department or primary care provider.
