Why I came to EMU

I wanted a welcoming and safe place where my experience growing up as a “third culture kid” in Nepal, Swaziland and the U.S. would be understood and embraced.

Favorite things to do in Harrisonburg

I love to eat at the German, Thai, Venezuelan, Korean, Nepali, Salvadoran, Japanese, Italian, Indian, Virginian and many other excellent restaurants in Harrisonburg. I also enjoy hiking, biking, climbing, fishing and swimming in the surrounding hills, forests, lakes and streams.

Why I love to work at EMU

Above all EMU is a friendly and welcoming place. I love it that strangers smile and greet me here. Everyone holds doors open for everyone else. We all call the university president by her first name.
