Why I came to EMU

I came to EMU in search of a sense of belonging, an affordable quality education, and access to mentors to help me learn how to be a better human being. EMU almost immediately felt like the right choice for me when I realized I could connect deeply to the community of service-minded people on campus, shaping me to become a well-rounded global citizen. The level of care and intentionality I felt from those within the community drew me to feel welcomed and accepted in ways that made EMU feel like home!

Why I love EMU

I really love EMU because of its location! Campus offers relief from the craziness that comes with being neighbors to JMU but allows for access to the larger Harrisonburg city community. Downtown Harrisonburg is one of the BEST parts of our side of town and offers amazing food, entertainment, and small town community. Lastly, I especially love the gorgeous views of the Shenandoah valley as well as close proximity to the National Parks, Charlottesville, and Washington D.C.!

Anything else you should know about me?

I am really passionate about international travel and non profit work! Learning how to help people reach their goals and fulfill their various basic needs across the globe is something that I have always been drawn to and hope to do humbly and effectively. Ask me about the times I have lived abroad!
