Why I came to EMU
When I visited EMU for the first time, one of the first things I noticed was that the students seemed genuinely happy to be there, and they seemed genuinely happy that I was there too! After my experience in high school of always staying busy and focusing on achievements, I wanted a chance to be in an environment that encouraged and actively supported learning inside and outside of the classroom, an education that acknowledges that life consists of a lot more than making the grade. From my visits on campus and communication with professors, I saw and felt a supportive community that I found myself wanting to be a part of.
My favorite parts of being a student at EMU
In my time at EMU, I have come to carry a deep love and respect for the university and community. On more of a surface level (but still important!), the location is incredibly beautiful, and I felt like I was always finding new hikes, restaurants, coffee shops, etc. to check out. I also got involved in a variety of clubs that gave me outlets to let down and have fun. On a deeper level, the support and community I experienced at EMU allowed me to be authentically myself as I explored my passions.
Anything else you should know about me?
I am a deeply passionate person, and I bring that passion into everything that I choose to spend my time doing. Tell me about your interests! I also believe in the power of rest… meaning, I take a lot of naps.
