What are the scholarship opportunities?

Dr. Kimberly Schmidt Endowed Scholarship

These grants are awarded to students with financial need, thanks to generous ongoing giving from alumni and champions of the EMU Washington Semester.

Who is eligible:

Must have financial need (demonstrated through the Financial Assistance office)

Yoder-Miller Grant Fund

Christian Yoder and husband Jonathan Miller believe strongly in the transformative power of higher education. Christian served in the late ‘90s on the Washington Study-Service Year Advisory Board and has been a guest speaker at EMU Washington Semester multiple times over the years. Christian and Jonathan seek to enable students from low-income backgrounds to have the opportunity to grow intellectually, deepen their social justice awareness, grow professionally, and strengthen local organizations as interns in the nation’s capital. The Yoder Miller Grant Fund supports access to the EMU Washington Semester for students with financial need and to enhances diversity among WCSC participants. EMU Washington Semester awards up to 5 grants per year.

Who is eligible:

Must have financial need (demonstrated through the Financial Assistance office)
Priority consideration is given to students of color
