Virtual Audition Information

Virtual Audition: Video Submission Instructions for Mamma Mia!

Before submitting your videos, please register for an audition slot on the website so we have your information on file. Video submissions are due no later than May 11th at 5pm.

Slate: Please record yourself saying your name, what grade you are going into, and what role you are auditioning for.

Song: Please choose out of the songs listed below based on the character you are auditioning for. Please record with the music track provided. You can find the sheet music here.

Dance: Please learn this dance number and also include yourself doing a single, double, or triple pirouette and a high kick (instructions are at the end of the dance video). Please record the dance combination with this music recording (cue to 1:40):

To Submit: Upload* all videos (Slate, Song, Dance) onto YouTube or Vimeo, mark as either "public" or "unlisted" (if private, please send us a password) and submit the link(s) to summermusical@emu.edu with the subject line reading your first and last name, role you're auditioning for, and video submission (For example: John Doe, Sky, Video Submission).

Auditioning for Specific Roles

Sophie: Vocal Range F#3-E5 (pop soprano with a strong belt/mix), After finding her mother Donna's old diary, Sophie discovers that she might have 3 possible fathers and is determined to have her real father walk her down the aisle at her wedding.

Donna: Vocal Range E3-A5 (belter), Former lead singer of Donna and the Dynamos. After having daughter Sophie, Donna started working at a Taverna on a remote Greek Island, which she now owns and operates. Free spirited and vulnerable.

Sam: Vocal Range D3-Ab4 (baritone), One of Sophie's possible fathers. An American architect.

Bill: Vocal Range Bb2-F#4 (baritone), One of Sophie's possible fathers. Writer and adventurer. Good natured, always ready for adventure.

Harry: Vocal Range C#3-F#4 (high baritone)

One of Sophie's possible fathers, formerly known as “Head Banger’, he is now a banker. British financier, wealthy, conservative, eager to reconnect with his freer, youthful self.

Sky: Vocal Range Eb3-D5, (tenor), Sophie's fiancé, romantic and athletic. Has given up his life a s a successful business man in order to make over Donna's Taverna.

Tanya: Vocal Range E3-E6(strong belter) One of Donna's best friends and former member of Donna and the Dynamos. Recently divorced from her 3° husband and prepping for her 4"plastic surgery. Rich, acerbic, sophisticated and witty.

Rosie: Vocal Range E3-D5(strong belter) One of Donna's best friends and former member of Donna and the Dynamos. Unmarried and carefree, owns a new age bookstore. Kooky and fun, comedic, a bit of a clown.

Lisa: Vocal Range G3-Db5(belter) One of Sophie's best friends and a bridesmaid at her wedding.

Ali: Vocal Range G3-D5 (belter) One of Sophie's best friends and a bridesmaid at her wedding.

Pepper: Vocal Range A4-F5 One of Sky's best friends and groomsman at the wedding. Works at Donna's Taverna.

Eddie: Strong singer / dancer One ofSky's best friends and groomsman at the wedding. Works at Donna's Taverna.

Father Alexandrios: Strong singer / dancer Greek Orthodox priest that officiates Sophie's wedding.

Ensemble: Strong singer / dancers
