Faith and Spiritual Life at EMU

Worship Opportunities

Campus Worship (Wednesdays)

Campus Worship is an intentional space for worship nurturing personal and spiritual/faith formation informed by Anabaptist and ecumenical Christian theological perspectives and EMU core values and commitments. There will also be several simultaneous Engage break-out gatherings during the campus worship block in various locations. These will take place 7 times each semester typically occurring every other week.

Campus worship is held in Martin Chapel every other Wednesday 10:10-11 a.m. To help plan and lead chapel and other campus worship services, complete the “campus worship participation form”.

See the worship schedule for a variety of worship opportunities on campus.

Campus worship services are available as podcasts. Contact University Chaplain Brian Martin Burkholder at brian.burkholder@emu.edu or (540)432-4115.

Celebration: Praise Worship

Celebration is a student-led song, prayer and Christian praise worship service held most Sunday evenings, 8-9 p.m. in Old Common Grounds in the lower level of the University Commons (UC 177). The services are open to everyone.

For more information or to volunteer to help, contact the Celebration student coordinator and adviser by email at celebration@emu.edu.

Hymn Sing

Student song leaders offer twice monthly hymn sings on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. in Martin Chapel. Whether it’s a large gathering or a small group huddled around the piano, these services are highlights for many.  For current schedule, please check the EMU Events Calendar.
