FAQ for MAOL
How is this program different from an MBA?
Eastern Mennonite’s MA in organizational leadership (MAOL) and MBA programs share core values and many courses. Both are designed for busy, working professionals. MBA students pursue a track focused on quantitative skills, where MAOL students pursue leadership formation and interpersonal skills. The MAOL can be pursued as an independent graduate degree or may serve to compliment an existing MBA.
Is EMU accredited?
EMU is accredited by The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, GA 30033, 404-679-450.
How long is the program?
Students taking the standard course load (two courses per term) and sequence finish in two years.
How many courses are in the core, and how many semesters?
There are 35 hours in the core, and students who take the standard course load (two courses per term) finish in six semesters.
How much is tuition?
Tuition is $640 per credit hour.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. MAOL students may be eligible for unsubsidized federal education loans. Full-time or part-time MAOL students may also consider an affordable monthly payment program that can be used in combination with a loan to reduce interest costs.
Is transfer credit accepted?
Yes, the EMU MAOL program may accept up to six graduate credits from other institutions at the discretion of the program director.
Is the GMAT required?
No, the GMAT is not required.
Can a student begin courses in the fall or spring?
Although it’s preferable for students to start in the fall, they can also start in the spring.
Can I take one course per semester instead of two?
Yes. While taking two courses is the preferred schedule, students who feel they can’t manage more than one course per semester can take just one course.
Can I enroll in a course even if I am not a degree seeking student?
