Guatemala SU 2026

Intercultural Skills for Human Services

Boost your language confidence and people-oriented career skills through three weeks in Guatemala! This program is open to all students, and will be especially relevant if your study or career interests include human services, social work, public health, nursing, education or adjacent fields.  Students will develop skills and new perspectives that prepare them to serve immigrant populations in the U.S. as well as build stronger working relationships with colleagues and customers in any setting.

Our time will be shaped around transformational learning activities, including visits to public service providers and NGOs,  and exploring culture through churches, museums, and historical sites. Immersion in a Spanish context, with the support of a host family will strengthen your own language skills, and prepare you for working with interpreters in professional settings. This summer intercultural program might be the perfect piece to prime your curiosity for next steps in your learning.
