Lee Snyder has served Mennonite higher education most of her career, as academic dean and vice president (Eastern Mennonite University), and as the eighth president of Bluffton University, 1996-2006. She received her BA and PhD degrees in English from the University of Oregon and a MA in English from James Madison University.
Lee’s publications are the areas of higher education leadership and spiritual memoir. Lee’s work includes serving on various non-profit boards and on leadership development projects.

She and her husband, Del, divide their time between Salem, Oregon and Harrisonburg, Virginia. They are members of Community Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, VA, and associate members of Salem Mennonite Church in Oregon.
