As the Vice President for Innovation and Student Recruitment at EMU, Jason leads EMU's recruitment and marketing teams as well as working with the President on forging innovative private and public partnerships to enhance student learning and opportunity.
Jason brings a wide range of higher experience and expertise in higher education. As Director of Study Abroad at James Madison Univeristy from 2015-2019, he was responsible to lead, administer and coordinates all study, intern and service abroad opportunities for the JMU community. In addition to serving as a faculty leader for multiple internatinal programs, he oversaw more than 90 faculty-led programs and established innovative international internship programs and programs for incoming freshman.
Good has held several roles at EMU. From 2013-15, he was Director of Admissions, leading the university to two of the strongest enrollment years in recent history. He has also been Director of Retention and Associate Director of Admissions, in addition to other involvements as a faculty instructor, head soccer coach, and cross-cultural faculty leader.
A Washington, D.C. native, Jason completed his bachelor’s degree from EMU in Sociology and Environmental Science. He completed his master’s and doctorate in Hispanic Studies from the Universidad de Cádiz in Andalucía, Spain. His Spanish language dissertation researches the integration of immigrant students into educational systems, specifically analyzing how to welcome and retain underrepresented groups into our educational communities.
Jason is thrilled to rejoin an educational community with a proven legacy of academic excellence, training leaders who unify and who are equipped as change-makers in their communities. EMU is a fearless leader in higher education, pushing boundaries through innovation, challenging the status quo, and an uncompromising commitment to our students. He is tremendously hopeful for EMU’s second century and inspired to join the leadership team with a commitment to use his role to work innovatively to remove barriers to education and increase access and inclusion for students from all walks of life.
