Being the hands and feet of Jesus
Y-Serve (Young People’s Christian Association) is the longest-running student organization at EMU! We are students eager to offer service to our community and beyond. Our goal is to serve others as the hands and feet of Jesus.
Jesus answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself. Do this and you will live.
Luke 10:27, 28b
Upcoming Service Project Opportunities
Thursday, December 1 from 4:30-6 p.m.
Christmas Caroling! Meet in front of the University Commons at 4:30 p.m. and we’ll walk as a group to VMRC and bring the spirit of the season to some retired people. The more the merrier.
Saturday, December 3
Tree planting! Come to Bergton, a small community about half an hour north of here, to plant trees. We will leave from the UC at 9:30 a.m., drive, plant some stuff, eat lunch (provided), work some more, then get back before dinner. Transportation is provided. Email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Jim Yoder (email@example.com) to sign up. The more volunteers, the better.
Tuesday, December 6
Highland Retreat Fundraiser! Let’s meet at 1:30 p.m. in front of the UC (again) and go from there to the EMHS dining hall. We will be moving and setting tables in preparation for a banquet. The proceeds go to a summer camp about half an hour north of EMU. We should be done with work by 4 and then we get to eat pizza.
