Ministry Interests: I hope to enter into pastoral ministry with an emphasis on worship, theology, and the arts. I also plan on further studies on a doctorate level and eventually pursuing ordination
- MA in Christian Leadership
History in Ministry
I have mostly served as a worship leader in a variety of churches (anglo-catholic, baptist, presbyterian…) while pursuing various other art music-related projects in the general market.
Special Ministry Interests
I am interested in the intersection of worship, theology, and the arts. I’m also interested in missional ministry, church planting, and spiritual formation.
Call to Ministry
I grew up in the church and had an interest in theology and music from a young age. My home congregation offered me many opportunities to participate in the worship life of the community, in which I’m very grateful. It is mostly through the support of friends and family and God’s providence that I studied religion in college with the intent on serving in ministry vocationally. EMS has served as a helpful resource in further discernment and has become an essential part of my ministry formation.
The worship life of the church, including: liturgy, music, preaching, prayers, etc.
My time as EMS was a wonderful experience. It offered me a renewed sense of call, further discernment in ministry, and many new resources and perspectives that will shape my ministry. The professors were expert in their fields and pastoral in their approach. I appreciate how formation is an essential component to education at EMS.
What courses did you enjoy the most at EMS?
I enjoyed all of them! Old Testament, Formation in God’s Story, and Living Theology were top favorites.
What thoughts would you like to share with those considering entering seminary?
Seminary is a journey, take the time to enjoy it and dig deep. Ask all the questions you can think of and try to engage with it with your whole self.
