“Mi Casa es Su Casa” – Pastor Juan C. Malvaez
Come on in! The Latino Student Alliance (LSA) extends hospitality with the theme of “mi casa es su casa” for Latino Heritage Month. Pastor Juan C. Malvaez, of Manantial de Vida Mennonite Church in Harrisonburg, VA, is the featured speaker.

The campus community gathers to hear President Loren Swartzendruber reflect on EMU being “like no other …” This service concludes with a time of sending for the New Zealand and South Africa & Lesotho cross-cultural groups leaving soon after chapel.
Faculty/Staff Conference – Ted Swartz: “Creativity in the University”
In this opening session of the annual Fall Faculty/Staff Conference, we welcomed Ted Swartz of Ted & Company to engage the theme, Creativity in the University, taken from various places in the Eastern Mennonite University mission statement. Ted is set to launch a new book, Laughter is Sacred Space next month.
2012 Baccalaureate
EMU celebrates the University’s 94th Annual Commencement in this Baccalaureate Service. Mark Metzler Sawin, Professor of History, addresses the graduates with his speech, titled, Wisdom & Vanity: A Teacher’s Parting Words. Senior class co-presidents Rochelle Fisher and Gabriel Brunk offer Senior Class Salutations.
