I teach courses in the chemistry and biology programs at EMU, including general chemistry, physical chemistry, and college physics. As Chemical Hygiene Officer, I oversee the safety-related aspects of our program and help make sure that all who perform laboratory work can do so with minimal risk to themselves, others, and our facilities.
I earned a PhD in Physical Chemistry from the University of Michigan after graduating with a BS in Chemistry from EMU. My graduate and postgraduate research interests in molecular energy transfer and the dynamics of chemical reactions took me to Sandia National Laboratory in Livermore, California, the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, and Brookhaven National Laboratory in New York.
