Eileen Reiter

Dr. Eileen Reiter serves as a Reading and Math Specialist through IU13 and brings over two decades of diverse educational experience to her role. Her career began in New York as an elementary special education teacher, and since relocating to Pennsylvania, she has worked in a variety of specialized settings, including High School Emotional Support, Elementary Life Skills Support, and Elementary Autistic Support. These experiences have shaped her student-centered approach and strengthened her ability to design and deliver effective, individualized instruction.

Currently, Eileen supports students through evidence-based interventions in reading and math, collaborating closely with classroom teachers to address academic needs and promote foundational skill development. Her practice is rooted in fostering growth, confidence, and independence in learners through targeted, data-informed strategies.

After earning her doctorate, Eileen joined the Literacy Department at Eastern Mennonite University as an adjunct professor, where she enjoys mentoring future educators and sharing her passion for inclusive, responsive teaching.

She married her high school best friend, David, and together they are blessed with twin daughters, Emily and Hannah. Outside of her professional work, she enjoys family vacations and cheering on her daughters at their volleyball games.
