Dr. Denis P. Quirk is a dedicated educator and instructional leader who brings both classroom and administrative experience to his role as an adjunct professor in graduate education. Currently serving as Assistant Superintendent in the Tulpehocken Area School District, Dr. Quirk is a passionate advocate for supporting educators in their continuous professional growth and in their efforts to positively impact students' lives.
Dr. Quirk began his educational career teaching Physics and Earth & Space Science at Conestoga Valley High School, where he developed a deep appreciation for the challenges and opportunities teachers face daily. His leadership journey includes roles as a junior-senior high school administrator at Tulpehocken and as middle school principal at Gerald G. Huesken Middle School in the Conestoga Valley School District. Throughout these roles, he has remained committed to teacher development, instructional innovation, and cultivating supportive learning environments.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth & Space Science from Millersville University, with certifications in both Earth & Space Science and Physics. He earned his Master of Arts in Education and K–12 Principal Certification from Cabrini College. Dr. Quirk completed his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership at Neumann University, where his research focused on trauma-informed practices, professional learning, and their application and impact on teachers as practitioners.
Dr. Quirk believes that the heart of education lies in the strength and support of its teachers. He champions collaborative professional learning communities and is dedicated to preparing future educational leaders who understand the importance of practical, high-yielding, and research-driven strategies in today’s schools. His work is guided by the principle that to transform student outcomes, we must first invest in the growth and well-being of those who teach them.
