Jody earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from West Virginia University and began her teaching career in 1984 teaching first grade in rural West Virginia.

She and her husband moved to Lancaster County in 1988, where she began teaching for the Lampeter-Strasburg School District. Jody earned her Master’s degree in Consulting Resource from Lancaster Bible College, and began sharing her passion for reading at EMU Lancaster as an adjunct professor in 2013.

Jody is married to Gordon Allen, and the two have been blessed with three children; Whitney, Taylor, and Joe. Next to spending lots of time having fun with her three grandbabies, Jody enjoys reading and cooking great food for family dinners.
