myEMU is the portal to important items such as viewing your online bill, submitting health forms, viewing your course schedule, etc. When you receive your Royals login and password, follow the directions to change your password to something unique and safe.

• Activate Royal Username & Password: Go to myEMU.edu
  • General Info >> Change Royal Password
  • EMU Electronic Systems User Access Information >> Login with assigned Username and temporary password
  • Change your passwordEnter current / temporary password

• Accessing your class schedule:

• Login to myEMU with your Royal username and password
• Find the “Academics” tab at the top of the screen
• On the left hand menu, find “myStudent Activities”
• View your class schedule

Each student is issued an EMU email account, the primary form of university communication:

• Tuition bills, notification of campus emergencies, events, announcements, and class information from professors/advisor will all be funneled through this account

1. Print and Complete Student Health Evaluation Form:
The Health Center requires that all students provide certain important documents, including health records and immunization documentation (including required Covid-19 vaccines) prior to the start of classes

• Go to https://emu.edu/studentlife/health/
• Print and complete the Student Health Evaluation Form, and follow the instructions to upload it to Medicat. An instructional slideshow is available here if you have questions about filling out the form

2. Covid-19 Immunization Requirements:
All students will be expected to have received a Covid vaccine booster before arriving to campus this Fall. This is in addition to your basic 1 or 2 step Covid Vaccines.

• Go to https://www.vaccines.gov/ to find where you can obtain your booster vaccine
• Once you have obtained your booster upload the vaccine record to emu.medicatconnect.com
• Find COVID‑19 vaccine locations near you 
  www.vaccines.gov

 The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records. Your review is required:

For information on FERPA, go to https://emu.edu/registrar/ferpa/ferpa-provisions-for-student-rights. FERPA rights include:

1. The right to inspect and review the student’s education records within 45 days of the day the University receives a request for access
2. The right to request the amendment of the student’s education records that the student believes is inaccurate, misleading, or otherwise in violation of the student’s privacy rights under FERPA
3. The right to provide written consent before the University discloses personally identifiable information from the student’s education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent
4. The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures by the university to comply with the requirements of FERPA

• Log on to myEMU and view your tuition bill under the “Accounts” tab.
• The Student Accounts office (Business Office - 1-888-432-4112) requires that all students have paid their tuition in full or set up a payment plan. Failure to do so results in a “hold” on your account, which results in delays in course registration and access to transcripts. 
• All full-time Undergraduate and International students at the Harrisonburg EMU location are required to have health insurance. You will see a charge for insurance on your fall semester statement. Please complete an enrollment or waiver form for the offered health insurance by visiting www.firststudent.com these forms must be submitted by [insert date here] (fall semester new students) or January 31st (spring semester new students)

Activate Moodle Learning Management System:

• Go to myEMU, click on Moodle under the Students label
• Log in on the right side of the page
• Username: Royal username
• Password: Individually selected new password
• Arrive in the Moodle home

Your semester's courses will show up in Moodle on the Dashboard about four weeks prior to the semester start date.

The Financial Assistance office requires that all students provide signatures and certain important documents prior to the start of classes.
