An Invaluable Resource

The EMU Free Food Room is a resource intended to help address food insecurity for EMU students and employees. As a member of the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank, the Free Food Room is able to offer non-perishable food, frozen meats, and produce. Local organic produce is also frequently donated in the growing season through the Vine and Fig The Fresh Veggies Series program.

The Free Food Room, located in the Ammon Heatwole House former upper level garage space, is open 24/7 with approved EMU ID card swipe access.

Donation Info

Donations of food and finances are welcome. To donate food, simply take it to the Free Food Room. Financial contributions can be made at this link.

EMU Free Food Room campus collaborators include the Office of Multicultural Student Services, Office of Faith and Spiritual Life, Center for Interfaith Engagement, Y-Serve, and the SEEDS student club.
