Jane Ellen Reid obtained her undergraduate degree in history from the University of Vermont, her Masters in Educational Psychology and Human development from Northern Arizona University, and has completed all coursework and comprehensive exams for NOVA Southeastern University’s doctoral program in the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR). During graduate school, she spent a year co-teaching organizational leadership courses with Dr. David Brubaker in the Center for Justice and Peacebuilding at Eastern Mennonite University. Before coming to EMU, Jane Ellen served as the Ombudsman at Central Arizona College (CAC), where she gave leadership to the development of the CAC ombudsman office. At EMU, Jane Ellen has taught Introduction to Conflict Transformation and Mediation, a practice course for students interested in peace studies and healthy communication. Since 2007, she has directed University Accord, in 2013, she became the University Ombudsman, and in 2014 launched Team Accord, a program designed to offer mentored practice opportunities for undergrad and grad interested in alternative dispute resolution. Jane Ellen’s research interests include engaging difficult conversations with clarity and grace, conflict coaching, supervisor-supervisee relationships, preparing for job performance evaluation, and job coaching
-related hobbies include gardening, jewelry design, fiber arts, and creating art from found objects.
