Harrisonburg City Schools, in partnership with Eastern Mennonite University’s Preparatory Music School, is offering strings classes for students in grades 3-8! Students may study violin and they will be learning a variety of music, including fun fiddle tunes, holiday songs and classical pieces.
The program provides instruments for free-lunch students (no additional charge) and reduced lunch students ($20/year).
Students who do not qualify for free or reduced lunch must provide their own instrument. Information will be provided at the Orientation meeting. One option is to rent through Tiller Strings, a local company, for $25 per month. Tiller Strings will be at the Orientation meeting. Parents may also purchase an instrument, but please wait until your child is sized at the Orientation meeting.
