For 41 years, Lehman taught the same subject to generations of students. He always championed the cause of the student having difficulty in math and readily gave of himself to provide individual help, counsel and encouragement. He proved the quality of his teaching by making his course on probability and statistics interesting. Lehman served under four presidents and seven academic deans. He was among the first faculty to work in Suter Science Center, which opened in 1968.
In retirement, Lehman enjoys photography, gardening, volunteer work and singing with the Senior at VMRC. He is active in his church, Mt. Clinton Mennonite.
