Virginia is a Shenandoah Valley native and a 2000 graduate of EMU, where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) and Spanish. She served as a volunteer through Mennonite Voluntary Service in Kansas City, through Mennonite Central Committee in Washington, D.C., and at Jubilee Partners in Comer, GA. Her passion is being a welcoming presence and resource to those from other countries and cultures. Virginia has experience as an English teacher, as an immigration paralegal in a non-profit law office, and as a case manager for migrant farmworkers. In her free time, Virginia enjoys gardening, food preservation, and reading.
