During EMU's annual faculty-staff conference week, we will be celebrating with the Harrisonburg community. You are welcome and encouraged to attend the following events.

Come to your Senses: Exploring Nature Together

When: Monday, August 16, 8:30 a.m.-10 a.m.
Where: EMU Park Woods
Who: Children with parents/guardians

Explore nature in the EMU Park Woods through guided sensory awareness activities well suited for young children partnered with a parent, grandparent  or guardian or a few elementary age students working together. These are tried and true environmental education nature awareness activities using simple materials, observation and presence.

Plant/Veggie Swap and Flower to the People 

When: Thursday, August 19, 5-7 p.m. 
Where: Thomas Plaza (in front of the EMU Campus Center)
Who: Plant and flower enthusiasts of all kinds

Bring your prized homegrown fruits, vegetables and plants and trade them with other folks or just give them away!
AND
Take home a bouquet of homegrown flowers from EMU Faculty and Staff

Downtown Music Concert and Free Ice Cream -

When: Saturday, August 21, 12-2 p.m.
Where: In front of the Massanutten Regional Library, downtown Harrisonburg
Who: Music lovers and Ice Cream lovers

Music faculty will perform a concert outside in front of the library downtown. 
AND 
The Ice Cream Pedaler will be making and giving out homemade ice cream at the concert.
