Considering Seminary?

With master's degrees, dual degrees, and certificates, Eastern Mennonite Seminary offers theological education to fit your journey.

While some students come to EMS on a clear pathway to traditional pastoral or chaplaincy vocations, others are interested in how theology and religion inform their identities as activists, scholars, non-profit leaders and community builders.

Together, we are an ecumenical community of learning rooted in multiple Anabaptist-Mennonite traditions—a place to cultivate theological reflection, to discern and prepare for your vocation based on your unique gifts and calling.

EMS is deeply invested in student formation. 93% of EMS courses are taught by continuing (non-adjunct) faculty. Class sizes are small, with attention to each individual and the relationships we form. You can attend courses on-campus in Harrisonburg, Virginia, or synchronously online, learning in real time with professors and fellow students. Join us as we learn and grow together!
