Eastern Mennonite University’s online RN to BSN program has been recognized as the best in the state for 2022 by RegisteredNursing.org, a nursing advocacy organization.
Nursing programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students during school, towards licensure, and beyond. Those factors include accreditation, total numbers of student completions, tuition, ratio of tenured instructional faculty, acceptance rate percentages, and graduation rates.
“We’re tremendously proud of all of our nursing programs, but the online RN-BSN offers a unique learning environment for a special group of working professionals who bring a lot of expertise and experience to the classroom,” said department chair Melody Cash, professor of nursing at EMU. “I think we’re successful in part because we honor those experiences and treat each student as an individual with different learning styles, challenges and goals.”
EMU’s graduate nursing education programs include courses in communication, management, health policy, community and family health, and cultural perspectives. Students also plan, research and present a capstone of evidence-based practice.
Thirty percent of graduates report an increase in salary. More than 25 percent went on to earn a graduate degree and the same percentage reported earning a promotion. The program is designed for working professionals and offers year-round, 5-week courses, with affordable tuition and financial assistance options.
Congratulations, Melody, faculty, and students. It is delightful to watch the program grow and be recognized.
