Professor of Music David Berry and friends perform in the final concert of the EMU Music Faculty Artist Series. The free concert is at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 18, in Martin Chapel. Masks are optional.
The concert will also be available via livestream on the Eastern Mennonite University Music Program Facebook page.
Berry will be joined by musician friends from EMU, JMU, and the Harrisonburg community for a fun and eclectic concert featuring classical, jazz, and gospel music. The concert will feature compositions ranging from Johannes Brahms’ exciting Piano Quartet No.1 in G-minor to Nina Simone’s soulful classic “I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free,” as well as Berry’s own piano arrangement of the spiritual “Ride On King Jesus.”
Berry will be joined by vocalists Jamie Franklin and Tarini Nagasaila Suresh, drummer Joseph Harder, bassist Joseph Nichols, violinist Jake Roege, violist Diane Phoenix Neal, and cellist Kim Souther.
