Youth Orchestra to Present Concert for Children of All Ages

The Shenandoah Valley Youth Orchestra is presenting its annual “Musical Treats” concert 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, in Lehman Auditorium.

The short program, designed for families with children of all ages, will feature the 35-member ensemble playing “Jupiter” from “The Planets” by Holst and “Hoe-Down” from “Rodeo” by Aaron Copland.

Individual students will also give brief demonstrations of their instruments and one of the children from the audience to be guest conductor for one selection.

“We think this will be a fun time for all,” said interim orchestra director Rhonda Stees. “Everyone is invited to come in costume and expect a variety of treats.”

Admission to the program is free.
