While Eastern Mennonite University held its 87th annual commencement exercises May 1 on the front lawn of campus, awarding diplomas to 380 undergraduate and graduate students, a second ceremony took place May 26, 2005 at Sarasota (Fla.) Christian School to recognize a cohort group of students from that area who earned the M.A. in education degree through an extension program from EMU.
