Jordan Detwiler-Michelson is the Director of the Maine Roads to Quality Professional Development Network (MRTQ PDN), which implements a statewide professional development system for those working in early childhood education and out-of-school time. He brings 15 years of experience in the field of education as a classroom instructor and program manager in the U.S. and more than 10 countries.

Prior to joining the Catherine Cutler Institute, Jordan was supporting international implementation of large-scale, multi-year education initiatives across the education continuum in partnership with national and subnational governments and partners in West Africa, East Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia. His previous work includes advancing workforce preparedness and employer engagement within the higher education sector in Lebanon; implementing national teacher training in support of Kenya’s primary literacy curriculum; developing accelerated education for Liberia’s overage and out-of-school children; and managing the creation of professional development, evidence-based resources, and peer exchanges across three global communities of practice.

At the Cutler Institute, Jordan brings his project management expertise and systems strengthening lens to lead a state-wide team and collaborate with stakeholders to improve program quality for Maine’s early childhood and out-of-school-time providers.
