Director of Refugee Resettlement Program
2010: Following nine years of being a pastor of a small Mennonite church in a rural area outside of Harrisonburg, VA, I returned to the Refugee Resettlement Program as director. When I was with the refugee program in the late 1990’s the clients were mostly Christians from Eastern Europe and Central America. Now they are mostly Muslims from Iraq. This is an opportunity for area churches to extend hospitality to people of another faith.
In every position since graduating from the Conflict Transformation Program, I found my training in conflict transformation helpful–with youth and adults, neighborhoods, churches, home– the perspective and the skills to resolve our conflicts are needed.
