EMU baseball named an ABCA Academic Program of Excellence

For the first time in program history, EMU baseball has been named an Academic Program of Excellence by the American Baseball Coaches Association. EMU was among more than 420 collegiate programs were recognized with this year’s award.

The main criteria is that teams must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale during the 2021-22 academic year.

Twenty-one EMU Royals baseball players among a total of 119 EMU student-athletes were also recognized this year on the 2021-22 ODAC All-Academic Team. The honorees include: Adrian Abad, Tyler Bagent, Cole Bashinski, Noah Dahloff, Jason Dwyer, Robert Guenther, Alex Gulisano, Matthew Harding, Jordan Jones, Logan Jones, Skylar Lacks, Jaylon Lee, Garrett Nyce, Andrew Petitt, Gage Riddick, Jon Sawyers, Forrest Shuey, Natty Solomon, Lucas Sorensen, Ethan Spraker, and Colin Troilo.

The baseball team is coached by Adam Posey.
