Field hockey athletes earn academic recognition

The National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) released its National Academic Squad today, and 75% of EMU’s roster earned the recognition.

The Academic Squad award is for individuals who hold a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher through the fall semester. Cassidy Armstrong (Culpeper, Va./Eastern View), Rachel Breslin (Lititz, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite), Clover Cooper (Barboursville, Va./Orange County), Alaina Fiden (Chesapeake, Va./Western Branch), Ann Ghally (Aldie, Va./John Champe), Lauren Hartzler (Manheim, Pa./Manheim Central), Skylar Hedgepeth (Smithfield, Va./Smithfield), Kate Landis (Sellersville, Pa./Dock Mennonite Academy), Elizabeth Longacre (Quakertown, Pa./Dock Mennonite Academy), Bri Miller (Gloucester, Va./Gloucester), Keely Mitchell (Virginia Beach, Va./Bayside) and Morgan Tricarico (Culpeper, Va./Eastern View) represent Royals out of the 2,050 student-athletes from the 140 Division III institutions recognized this year.

Hartzler earned special recognition as a four-year honoree on the National Academic Squad.
