EMU’s Homecoming and Family Weekend is almost upon us. With events to please the whole family, bring them (and your neighbors and your BFF and the guy at the coffee shop…) to join our biggest celebration of the year.

MUSIC CELEBRATION CONCERT

Friday, Lehman Auditorium, 8 p.m., Adults $10 advanced, $15 at the door, EMU student ID or 12 and under – free
Enjoy music from Good Company, Dr. David Berry, Assistant Professor and Piano, Striking Accord, Chamber Singers and the EMU orchestra. Audience will participate by singing select hymns together between music groups.
HOMECOMING CELEBRATION
Saturday, Lehman Auditorium, 11 a.m.
Reunite with class members in this familiar campus landmark. Celebrate alumni award recipients, take class photos (professional photo for classes celebrating 10, 25, and 50 years), and enjoy seeing old friends. All alumni and guests are welcome. Here’s more on our award recipients:

- EMU Hall of Honor to induct three alumni athletes
EMUTenTalks (Special 25th CJP anniversary edition) | Celebrate. Reflect. Dream.
Saturday, University Commons, MainStage Theater, 2 p.m.
Inspiring 10-minute presentations by three transformative peacebuilders, followed by Q&A. Speakers include: John Sharp, father of Michael J. Sharp ’05, historian, storyteller, Kilimanjaro “dream hiker”; Tammy Krause MA ’99, restorative justice pioneer in defense-victim outreach; Darsheel Kaur MA ’17, youth advocate, public educator, community builder, poet.
FALL FESTIVAL: Fun for all ages
Saturday, Front lawn, 3 – 7 p.m.
Fun for all ages! Bring blankets and lawn chairs, listen to live music from the EMU Jazz Band followed by Charlottesville-based Free Union.
Sample the Shenandoah Valley with a tasty tour of local food trucks, which include: Crepes Didot, Smokin’ Q, Tacos El Primo, Paella Perfecta, Grilled Cheese Mania, Kline’s Dairy Bar. Pay on location for individual items.
Other activities include yard games, inflatables and a special photo booth.
