The EMU music department is presenting two evenings of vintage musical theater by 25 members of the “scenes” class.
Jen Cooper, voice instructor at EMU
This family-friendly homage to classic movie and theater musicals, written by LB Hamilton and directed by Jennifer Cooper, instructor in voice at EMU, will spring to life on the Lehman Auditorium stage 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 16 and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Apr. 18.
Students will portray characters similar to those recalled from timeless favorites such as “On the Town,” “Wonderful Town,” “She Loves Me,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” “Guys and Dolls,” “Bells are Ringing” and more.
“Come out and hum along to the familiar tunes of this delightful genre, woven together by an original script set in New York City, circa 1920s- 1950s) and bursting with life, laughter and old-fashioned romance,” Ms. Cooper said.
Admission is free. Donations are welcomed for the EMU music department student scholarship fund.
