There’s an open space in the EMU parent council circle where Jeanine R. Musselman ’85 used to sit.Jeanine, parent of EMU junior Miles, died March 13, after a battle with cancer.
“As a parent council member Jeanine was committed and helpful, bringing fresh ideas and energy,” said Doug Nyce ’86, director of EMU alumni and parent relations.
Jeanine also left an open space in the circle of learning at Christopher Dock Mennonite High School in Lansdale, Pa., where she had taught since 1997. She was a family and consumer sciences instructor well-known and respected for her innovative courses that explored life from womb to tomb, beginning with child development and culminating with gerontology.
A 1981 CD graduate, Jeanine received her masters degree in education from Temple University. She was a Level II certified teacher and held national board certification.
Prior to joining the CD faculty, Jeanine taught family and consumer sciences at Penn View Christian School for 10 years. She was a member of Souderton Mennonite Church.
“Jeanine was the consummate professional,” said CD English teacher J. Eric Bishop ’78. “She invested much time, energy and love into her life outside of school, but she brought that same kind of time, energy and love into the classroom and other school settings.”
Jeanine is survived by husband Kendall Musselman ’84 and sons, Miles, and Forrest.
