Grant is currently pursuing a Ph.D in public policy and administration at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Va. His research focus is on immigration policy; as part of his graduate assistantship, he is an associate at the Commonwealth Educational Policy Institute.
He lives with his spouse, Maia Linask, in Richmond, Va., where she teaches economics at the University of Richmond. He currently serves as chair of the board of directors for Ten Thousand Villages – Richmond; as a member of the advisory council for Hope in the Cities; and as a member of newsletter committee for Richmond Peace Education Center. Grant is a part of Richmond Mennonite Fellowship.
